Palestine Revisited: Unveiling the Historical Roots of Palestine's Struggle for Justice

Dr. Ageel is a third-generation Palestinian refugee. From 2000-2006 she worked as a translator with The Guardian newspaper, and is currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Alberta. She is editor of Apartheid in Palestine: Hard Laws and Harder Experiences, as well as co-editor of Women's Voices from Gaza, a seven-book series documenting life in Palestine before and after the 1948 Nakba as recounted by the women who lived through the experiences.

Dr. Ageel's knowledge of the Middle East conflict is both scholarly and personal. Born and raised in a refugee camp in Gaza, she still has family who live in the conflict zone as internally displaced persons. Her PhD dissertation explored the historic and contemporary role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in addressing durable solutions for Palestinian refugees.

With personal testimony and academic rigour, Dr. Ageel seeks to share  the story of Palestine -- then and now -- through a uniquely Palestinian lens.
