Information About Elections

The Student Association elections are your chance to make your voice heard and shape the leadership for the upcoming year. Here’s everything you need to know to get involved:

Election Timeline

• BUSA Election Panel:
  📅 Monday, January 22, 2025
  🕕 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  📍 Learn everything you need to know about running for a position, campaign rules, and timelines.

• Nominations Open:
  📅 Tuesday, January 23, 2025
  🖋️ Candidates can start collecting signatures for their nomination.

• Application Deadline:
  📅 Tuesday, January 30, 2025
  🕛 12:00 PM
  📝 Submit your completed application and collected signatures to the Student Association office.

• Speech Day:
  📅 Wednesday, February 12, 2025
  🗣️ Candidates will present their speeches to the student body. Voting will open immediately after. Voting will be open until Thursday, February 13 at 11:59 pm.

• Results Announcement:
  📅 Friday, February 14, 2025
  📢 Results will be collected and verified by a trusted individual and announced.

Eligibility

• All currently enrolled students are eligible to vote.
• To run for a position, you must be a registered student in good standing. Specific eligibility for roles will be detailed in the nomination forms.

Q: What positions are available?
A: Positions include President, EVP, Social VP, Communications VP, Financial VP, Student Life and VP. (Secretary is an elected position)

Q: How do I campaign as a candidate?
A: Approved candidates will receive guidelines on permitted campaign activities.

Q: Can international students run for positions?
A: Yes, all registered students are eligible to run for positions.

Q: Is voting anonymous?
A: Absolutely! Your vote is confidential and secure.
