Congratulations to recent graduate Zoe McCormick who took first place in the Classical Voice category this past weekend at the Canada West Performing Arts Festival in Edmonton, Alberta. Zoe graduated from Burman summa cum laude this past April with her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance. Dr. Wendolin Munroe, professor of Music at Burman, praised her performance at the festival, “She sang so well. Her technique was excellent, and her overall musical expressiveness brought tears to my eyes. This is an exciting conclusion to her studies here in Alberta and at Burman University!”

The Canada West Performing Arts Festival features the top amateur music and speech arts competitors from each partnering province’s provincial performing arts festival. To qualify for the Canada West Performing Arts Festival, performers must be recommended from the Provincial Festival of each participating province.
