Dr. Eduardo Solá, Assistant Professor of Music at Burman University, is debuting his new book, Fugue Analysis: A Practical Guide by academic publisher Peter Lang on October 4, 2023 at the Burman University Library. Dr. Solá wrote the guide with his student's in mind, "Since joining the faculty in 2018, I have been making intentional efforts to reintegrate fugue analysis into our list of topics so as to prepare students for graduate studies. I have created a systematic analytical framework that eliminates the terminological inconsistencies found in other texts, providing students with a clear-cut and cohesive method. The book uses simple linear-mathematical concepts to overwrite the alleged unattainability of fugal counterpoint on the part of undergraduate students and help them better understand the complexities of this technique. My Burman University students have shown excellent command of fugal techniques through this approach, and I hope that, with the publication of this volume, many other students and teachers worldwide will also benefit from this framework," remarks Solá.
