Hi, I’m Mario Parchment, and I’m here to support you at Burman University! With over 20 years of experience in mentoring, event planning, and cross cultural engagement, I’m passionate about helping students feel at home while studying in Canada.
At the International Office and Lounge, I work to create a welcoming space where you can connect, find resources, and celebrate your culture. From planning multicultural events to organizing holiday activities and curating student guides, my goal is to make sure every international student feels valued and supported.
Whether you need advice, encouragement, or just a place to belong, I’m excited to walk alongside you on your Burman journey.

The International Office at Burman University is proud to celebrate the achievements, talents, and stories of our international student community. Every two weeks, on Wednesday, we publish a new International Student Spotlight article featuring an outstanding student who inspires others through their academic success, leadership, creativity, or contributions to campus life.
What is the Spotlight?
The International Student Spotlight is a recurring feature that:
- Highlights student achievements both inside and outside the classroom.
- Shares personal journeys of adapting to life in Canada and thriving at Burman.
- Celebrates diversity by showcasing the unique cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives of our international students.
- Builds community by helping students learn from and connect with one another.
