Education
We would love to have you come study with us! We have two degrees focused on Lifestyle Medicine and Flourishing through the Biology and Wellness Departments and we hope to have a third option through the Psychology program coming soon!
BSc Biology (4-Yr) Pre Med Lifestyle Medicine and Flourishing Track:
As the only undergraduate track of its kind in Canada, this program simultaneously provides prerequisites for professional schools as well as the study of the Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine and Flourishing. Lifestyle medicine is a medical specialty that uses therapeutic lifestyle interventions as a primary modality to treat chronic conditions and their causes. It incorporates six evidence-based pillars: a whole-food, plant-predominant eating pattern, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances and positive social connections. Flourishing is a broad construct that involves experiences of thriving and abundance in physical, psychological, and spiritual domains of wellness. This track provides students a strong foundation in basic sciences, general biology, molecular and cellular biology, physiology, biochemistry and nutrition while also incorporating exercise, psychology, and religious studies.

The psychology department does not have a specific track focusing on Lifestyle Medicine and Flourishing at the present time but works closely with the Biology and Wellness departments to promote health and flourishing throughout the Psychology degree.
In addition, the research focus of the faculty in the Psychology Department is focused on understanding and pursuing experiences of flourishing.
